Full Moon in Sagittarius: The Search for Meaning

June starts off with a Full Moon, just as May did. But whereas in May we were dealing with our emotions, this Full Moon illuminates our mind. The Full Moon on June 2nd is a Full Moon in the sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius as an archetype is about truth, understanding and the big picture. The Sun in Gemini illuminates for us what ideas we base our truth on. And Neptune in Pisces, making a square to this Full Moon axis creates a spiritual crisis. We have a crisis in what we believe as we are simultaneously driven to gather new information that could help us to build our reality on something besides the tried and true. In fact the tried seems to have shifted to the 'been there, done that' and the true has shifted into the untrue. Much of what we have been lead to believe has been shown to be either out right wrong, or at least sorely lacking.

Within the chart of this Full Moon we have two grand trines, one fire and one air. Fire and Air potentiate each other and drive us to act. Both elements are male and yang in nature, so the energy is moving out. Fire trines are highly creative, and Air trines give us much information. The fire trine is between Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Aries and the Full Moon in Sagittarius. Creativity, out of the box thinking, individuality, and belief systems burn hot with this trine. The Air trine, or the information side is between the North Node in Libra, The Sun and Ceres, the largest of the asteroids in Aquarius. The North node points to the direction of our collective future evolution, the Sun illuminates anything it touches, in this case information, and Ceres, the asteroid associated with Nurturing is in the sign of the group. It is quite obvious to this astrologer that the heavens are pointing to a collective future where individual creativity and ingenuity are fostered, not for the aggrandizement of the individual, but for the benefit of the collective.

So what's the issue then? Well, this too is seen in this chart. Pluto, the planet of transformation in the sign of Power, Capricorn is at the head of a yod with Mars in Gemini and Jupiter in Leo. Yod's require adjustments to be made, both mentally and emotionally. The mental adjustments have to do with our desire nature (Mars/Pluto). What do we need to release of the old mind set, in order to move into a new Paradigm? The emotional adjustment, generally the more difficult to make really is about releasing the need for drama. The almost irrational need for people to be special must be released. We are all special, no one more special than the next. Yet those in power wish to pit us against each other, reaping the rewards of the planet (Pluto in Capricorn) while we fight over crumbs; and polluted crumbs at that.

It is time for us to work together for a common future. The future is the auspices of Sagittarius. If we want a future based on Natural Law and Truth, then we need to start loving each other, right this very minute. If we can't manage this shift, the future for our children looks very bleak indeed.

New Moon in Gemini: Charting the Way Forward

On Tuesday, June 16th we have the New Moon in the sign of Gemini. This New Moon occurs at the 26th degree of Gemini. The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “Frost covered trees against winter skies” The symbol shows us the essence of the tree in it’s bare reality. And so we are called to look at things as they are. Remove all external superficialities and look to the core.

Gemini is the sign of duality, the sign of black and white. It is in Gemini that we learn through comparing and contrasting. There is much information gathered in Gemini, and this New Moon is rife with Gemini energy. Besides the Sun and Moon both Mars, the planet of action and Mercury, the planet of the mind are in Gemini. The only personal planet, those planets that mediate our inner nature, that is not in Gemini is Venus. Venus moved into Leo a 11 days ago. Venus will be in Leo for approximately 4 months as part of it’s retrograde cycle. Venus in Leo is about self-expression and about love. As we gather information and move forward in thought (Mercury) and deed (Mars) we must keep our sense of personal value (Venus) and our essential needs (Venus) from a centered and heartfelt place (Leo).

We are not in this alone, we have guidance if we choose to access it. Many of our problems seem insurmountable as we look around at our world. This is seen both in the personal sphere and the collective sphere. How can we move forward when all around us chaos seems to reign supreme. As the outside is simply a reflection of the inside, it can be said that what is being experienced in the outer world is a reflection of the inner turmoil we are all feeling.

In the chart for this New Moon we have a grand fire trine. Elementally fire is associated with Spirit. Grand trines give us access to great power, yet they tend to work in the background and we must access them through choice. This Grand Trine has Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Aries and the asteroid Pallas in Sagittarius. This is a very tight aspect which makes it even more powerful. We have at our disposal, the fires of spiritual transformation. Uranus in Aries in it’s highest expression is our connection to our I AM presence. Our core connection to Spirit/God/Goddess/All that is. Jupiter in Leo is an expansion of our creative heart. And Pallas in Sagittarius is the creative intelligence of Mother Nature and Natural Law.

We as humans are the missing link, as it where, between Heaven and Earth. It is in the Heart Chakra, that these two forces meet to find balance. In esoteric tradition, the Heart Chakra is connected to the Fourth Ray, Harmony through Conflict. Well we have plenty of conflict don’t we? Now it is up to us to find the Harmony part of the equation. We can’t forget that the transiting North Node, symbolizing the direction of our collective evolution, is in Libra, the sign of Harmony and Balance.

With this New Moon we gather the information we need to move forward on our journey towards Harmony. Through our connection to Source, through our connection to the core of our own hearts, through our connection to Nature, and through our connection to each other, it is time to communicate (another Gemini theme) and figure things out. We all have a stake in this conversation

New Moon in Taurus: Planting the Seeds of Self-Love

On May 17/18th there is a new Moon in the sign of Taurus. Taurus, the sign of the Bull, is a the sign most associated with values. It is in Taurus that we come in contact with our essential needs. The needs that allow our survival and ultimate thrival. Taurus is intimately connected to nature, the earth and the way we utilize her resources. Culturally our 'record' on how we treat and appreciate the Earth is abysmal. This New Moon beckons us to form a new relationship with our planet. Looking seriously in how we go about gathering her resources, at what cost to her, and at what cost to us. And what is truly essential in our lives in relation to those resources. There is an old Native American saying that with every choice you must think ahead 7 generations. Could you imagine if we were to even make choices one or two generations ahead. How different would our world would be.

The reflection of how we treat our planet is in direct connection to how we treat ourselves as human beings. The word human derives from the words humus, meaning dirt and mana, meaning mind. As part of a patriarchal culture we give plenty of thought to the mind part of our equation and very little to the dirt part. We do not have a good relationship to our earthly selves. In fact the earthly part of ourselves is seen culturally and sinful, base and less than. How can we care for the Earth without caring for our own bodies? Our bodies are gifts from the mother as a vessel for spirit. With each choice we make we need to consider how things are effecting our body and the body of Mother Earth.

Taurus is also connected to pleasure, especially self-pleasure. We revel in the senses in Taurus, and it is not wrong or sinful to do so. It is only when we are given the ultimatum that it is either spirit or body that people choose body. How about choosing both? Being completely in our bodies, loving ourselves, loving our planet and being one with Spirit. Imagine the world we could co-create with that set of instructions!

So on this New Moon we are being asked to plant the seeds of a new relationship to our selves. Loving and appreciating our bodies, our minds, our hearts and our souls. Seeing ourselves as whole and sacred. Seeing the Earth as Sacred. Venus the ruling planet of Taurus is in Cancer in the chart of the New Moon. Venus is in a square to the nodes of the Moon. We are at an evolutionary crossroad. The North Node of the Moon is in Libra, which is also ruled by Venus, yet we can't get to a cooperative future based on love and mutual respect, until we heal the wounds around our instinctual needs. We must face our sexual needs, seeing them as natural. Not allowing culture to denigrate us because we have these needs. We need a new relationship with our bodies and it starts with looking at how repressing those needs have moved us to a culture of death, instead a culture of life.

We have the opportunity to change the world into a more loving place, star with loving your body, loving yourself and then moving onto others. Miraculous things happen with the simplest steps. Take them.

Full Moon in Scorpio: The Fullness of Life Exposed

On May 3rd/4th there is a Full Moon in the sign of Scorpio. Full Moons are times of awareness and fruition. The seed planted on the New Moon in Aries on the 18th of April is brought forth into the world.

The Taurus/Scorpio axis is the axis of life and death, of building and of letting go, of our own resources and resourcefulness and the resources we share with others. This is the axis of sex, money & taxes. When this axis is stimulated it is always a highly charged time. Add to the charge, Jupiter in Leo which is almost exactly square the Full Moon axis.

Jupiter, just recently began to move forward in the sky (April 8th) and is quite powerful in the sign of self-expression, creativity and leadership. As with all things, too much of a good thing isn't a good thing and Jupiter doesn't always know when enough is enough, especially in Leo which is a sign known for drama. So guard against drama for drama’s sake, there is enough of a charge here without such shenanigans.

The Sun in Taurus wants to know where it stands. Taurus is an earth sign so our conscious mind (the Sun) is focused on practical concerns. The Moon ,our unconsciously habitual self, is in emotionally intense and secretive Scorpio. Yet the Moon is Full, so we must become aware of our sensitive and often wounded underbelly. So this is a very emotionally sensitive time and we must tread lightly. Or we may feel the sting of the wounded Scorpio Moon. It is common knowledge that a wounded animal is the most dangerous. The Moon does connect to our more animal nature. So consider yourself forewarned.

Sometimes what is uncovered by this Full Scorpio Moon is even unknown to the self. It is in Scorpio that we meet the shadow. Yet this Full Moon is an opportunity to become aware of this. Saturn is now moving retrograde and will retrograde back into the last 2 degrees of Scorpio. Saturn will be in Scorpio from June through September before it re-enters Sagittarius. And Saturn won’t be back in Scorpio for another 29years. This summer we have the opportunity to work through and with any unhealed shadows that come to light at this time.

This is the type of Full Moon, where self awareness can be invaluable. Dealing with these energies from an unconscious place can be dangerous. Along with self-awareness, awareness of your surroundings is also a good idea, for there are many on the planet who are not self-aware. Any time sex is a major theme, we can expect all manner of projection and intensity.

Yet despite all the warnings, this can be a most creative time. Taurus/Scorpio/Leo are all highly creative archetypes. There is a lot of fertility in this combination. For sure lots of children will be conceived during this time.

This is a highly sexually charged time as well, and with Jupiter in Leo in the picture, speaking from your heart is highlighted, even if it causes a stir. Each person has their own truth and they have the right to express it with care and a certain amount of consideration.

We can take this creative and fertile time to continue to build the foundations for the New Paradigm to take root. So immerse yourself in the fullness of this time and be loving to one another.

New Moon in Aries: A New Beginning

On April 18th there is a New Moon in the sign of Aries. This New Moon occurs at the 29th degree of Aries (there are 30 degrees per sign), so we are just about at the end of sign. Aries is about becoming. As the first sign of the zodiac it rises up out of the amorphous wholeness of Pisces ready to be something new and unique. In Aries we are open to new experiences, in fact we crave new experience and we like to have the freedom to go as we please.

Over the last few months we have moved through some very transformational energies. The last of the 7 exact Pluto/Uranus squares happened in March, followed by a New Moon Solar Eclipse in the last degree of Pisces. Then at the start of April we had a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra. The last Pluto/Uranus square portended a time when we are being required to take action to build our future. The eclipses on the other hand required us to release any emotional baggage that we were still holding onto that kept us isolated, angry and fearful. The combination of these two energies now have us on the precipice of a totally new beginning. One we are to face together.

Together? Yes, together as one people, moving together in harmony towards a more fair and verdant future. But how you ask? If we look around at the world we live in we seem to be as far as we can be from that reality. Or are we? Is that just what we are lead to believe. If we look a little harder there are all manner of grassroots movements forwarding an agenda of cooperation, respect for the planet and a whole new world view.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree of Aries is: The Music of the Spheres. The keynote to this image, according to Dane Rudhyar, developer of Humanistic Astrology is: Attunement to Cosmic Order. How is cosmic order expressed on Planet Earth? Natural Law of course. The Laws of Nature are to guide us. Here’s a few natural laws to get us started. Never take more than you need. Don’t sh*t where you eat, working cooperatively is more efficient. Sounds like common sense doesn’t it?

This type of thinking, doing and being, runs up against a lot of sacred cows in our culture, Consumerism, Capitalism, Fundamentalist Religions of all stripes, the whole idea of ownership, and what the pursuit of happiness really means. Over the next few years we will be working all of this out. If we can keep the ideal in mind while working diligently and untiringly toward a future of cooperation we will change the world.

Part of the challenges we have faced since 2012 have actually been the process of finding out for ourselves who we are, what is essential in our lives, what kind of life do I want to live, what do I want to leave for our children. We have come up with some pretty profound answers and now it’s time to put our backs into it and make it happen.

We are the change we want to see, so things are changing and it will be Awesome!

Full Moon in Libra: Working together to create the New Earth

On April 4th there is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Libra. Full Moons are times when we become aware of something. Within the lunar cycle, seeds planted on the New Moon of March 20th, which occurred at the last degree of Pisces, comes to fruition. We get to see what has been planted. On a larger scale because last month’s New Moon was a Solar Eclipse and this month’s Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse there are longer range ramifications. Eclipses are the wild cards of the Astrological Universe. We never know quite what will happen. It is best to expect the unexpected with Eclipses and with Uranus conjoined the Sun in Aries in this eclipse there is a double down on unexpected.

There are two eclipse seasons a year, always six months apart. As I said in my New Moon Article of March 20th, we are in a South Node eclipse season, so it is about releasing something. Old emotional patterns of reacting from a place of fear, anger, hatred. Isolation and separation is what we are required to do, so that we can move toward a more balanced, fair, and equitable future.

Moving towards a more balanced and equitable future seems like a Herculean task, yet the tides are turned in our favor as the last of the 7 exact Pluto Uranus squares, the engine of our personal and collective transformation gives us the flow of energy necessary to get the work done. It’s all in your intention. With Uranus in Aries now moving away from Pluto in Capricorn, the new overtakes the old ways and the structures that no longer work for our evolution will break down. It is vitally important that you put your positive intentions out into the world. Things are very plastic at this time and there will be plenty of others putting out their negative intentions out at the same time. Yet Natural Law dictates that the beginning and the end are the same, so those with positive intention will manifest and those with negative intention will self destruct.

The New Paradigm is here and the Universe is poised to fulfill our desires. Let them be desires for peace, love and cooperation. The fate of our world depends on it.
